The Boy (From The Sea)
He came from the sea
Foamy beach
Seaweed hair
His eyes were chestnuts
Walking with a slant gait, he slid into me
In his eyes there were tales of lost sailors and ship wrecks
His hands rough, barnacles
Reaching up his leg
Look, he whispered and pointed out to the horizon
Its vastness engulfed me
The warm cloak of night
Oil lamps casting orange glow, feeding
On salty things with bare hands
Hunger
With a hiss like air trapping in a cave the sound makes shape
I see it,
The possibilities
